I am telling you these Brownies don’t last in my house. Fights will break out, if you try this recipe.
We had to share it equally and put each bowl in the fridge with our names on. I don’t know how it goes in your house, but in my house my kids (and husband) counts each one to make sure they don’t get a crumb less than any one else.
Let’s get to the recipe.
- 1 Packet 200g Marie Biscuits
- 250g Margarine
- 500g Icing sugar
- 20g Cocoa (= about 40 ml)
- 1 Egg, beaten
- 5 ml Caramel essence
- Baking paper
Break the biscuits into small pieces.
Melt the butter in a pot on low heat.
Sift the icing and cocoa together and add to the butter, with the egg.
Mix until smooth and remove from the heat. Add caramel essence and mix through.
Add the broken biscuits and mix thoroughly. Spoon into a buttered dish 20 cm by 20 cm (these days I make my life a whole lot easier by rather using baking paper to line the dish, instead of buttering it. It helps getting the brownies out easily at the end.)
Let cool a bit and place in the fridge. Wait a while and cut into pieces, place back in the fridge for it to completely set.
p.s. Hide your brownies
